Reservations made at launch event
Friday evening saw the launch of the Little Kelham Wedge Building – and we had plenty of visitors to the show home.
Many wanted to find out more about this latest phase while five plots were reserved on the night.
The homes that are still available are a mix of two and three bed properties starting at £215,000. Click here for more information on the available homes.
At the launch were members of the team from The Stew and Oyster, the bar which will soon be opening in Little Kelham, near the Clock Tower entrance to the site. On the menu were signature hot stew and snacks as well as refreshments from the Stew and Oyster lineup.
The event was a good opportunity to meet buyers, current residents and those who are interested in Little Kelham and the wider neighbourhood.
Judy Helliwell reserved a plot for her son, Tom, to live in while he works at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and studies for a PhD.
Tom, 25, said: “Everything about this area appeals to me – we have been looking for a while but this ticks all of the boxes.
“I love the Fat Cat, which will be my local, and the strong community feel in Kelham Island is really important too.
“I think a lot about Little Kelham itself appeals to millennials who are interested in design, clean living and community.”
Meanwhile Jordan Dolan and Joe Oliver, both 26, were both at the event to find out more about homes at Little Kelham.
“For us something like this is ideal,” said Jordan.
“There are schemes like Help to Buy available which can help us get on the housing ladder and we know people who live in Little Kelham and love it.
“We already live in Kelham Island and love it here, so we don’t want to move anywhere else.”
